I’m jealous of anybody who has a deep understanding of joy; I’m not certain I’ve experienced enough of it to know it as distinct. Of course, a lot of that entails a focus on the present moment and what is right in front of our face. You cannot have that contentment that undergirds joy if you’re anticipating or dreading the future. If you’re stuck on past events, you cannot invest that joy with its presence in the present. Let this joy shine forth, for it is like strength: the more you express and find reflection in others, the more you receive!
